Tips for Home Buyers
Make Sure You Can Afford It!
This is the number one concern when buying a home. You may have been pre-approved for a $200,000 house, but be sure you feel comfortable making that mortgage payment every month. Be sure to give your finances a second look before purchasing!
Consider the Location
The saying ”Location is everything” is true on more than one level. Be sure the home you are interested in buying is within reasonable driving distance to work, school, the grocery store, etc. It can be a hassle having to drive 20 minutes one way for a gallon of milk!
Use a Local Lender
It’s a good idea to use a lender that is local to your area. Using a local lender ensures your money stays in the area. It’s also much easier for your Realtor to contact your lender if he/she lives in the area.
Select the Best Home For You
Many factors go into deciding on which home to buy, but do yourself a favor and ask your friends an family what they think about the house you are thinking about purchasing. Getting an opinion from someone that isn’t directly involved in purchasing the home can be extremely helpful. They’ll be able to ask the questions that might not be apparent to you!
Listen to Your Realtor
You’re Realtor is on your side! Not only are they experts at the real estate industry they are there to help YOU and nobody else. Make sure you ask lots of questions and always ask “Why”! A good Realtor will have no trouble explaining themselves!
